Therapy sessions

How long does a session last?

A therapy session lasts between thirty and forty-five minutes, depending on how tired the patient becomes.

Therapy tailored to the patient's needs and abilities

The therapy plan and the goals proposed are matched to the patient's difficulties, their abilities and their environment. They must be practical and relevant. Goals are set with the patient and their family, and may be adjusted as therapy goes on so that care stays as effective as possible.

Suitable materials, made specially for the patient where needed

Depending on the goals, different materials may be used: digital tools, games, hands-on equipment or everyday objects. They are selected, adapted or created for the patient where necessary, to match their abilities and their interests.

How do sessions begin?

Sessions follow an initial speech and language assessment. Where an assessment has recently been carried out by another therapist, the report will be reviewed to decide whether it can serve as a basis for therapy or whether a further evaluation is needed.
